Friends of Ridgefield Community Library

The President shall:

Supervise all activities of the organization.

Execute all instruments on its behalf.

Preside at all meetings of the membership.

Call board and special meetings as deemed necessary.

With the consent of the board, appoint committee chairs, corresponding secretaries, and/or stewards, as needed, and oversee their activities.

Serve as a member of all committees.

Prepare a brief annual report to include information on the activities of the past year, and present this report at the annual meeting.
Perform all other duties as appropriate.

The Vice President shall:

1. Preside at any and all meetings in the absence of the president.
2. Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Recording Secretary shall:

Keep the minutes of board, general, annual, and special meetings and distribute them to all Board members within two (2) weeks of each meeting.

Forward a copy of the approved minutes to the FRCL webmaster for all general, annual, and special meetings.

Develop and maintain an archive of all original documents generated by the Friends each year.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Treasurer shall:

Serve as the chief financial officer of the organization.

Receive and be accountable for all funds.

Pay all obligations incurred by the organization when payment is directed by either a majority vote of members at a general meeting or by the board. All financial transactions over $1,000.00 shall require the signature of any two (2) of the following officers: Treasurer, president, or vice president.

Maintain and balance bank accounts and depositories designated by the board.

Regularly provide financial reports during general, board, annual, and special meetings.

Annually coordinate submission of the financial records to the FVRL Foundation for audit.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Should the treasurer be unable to fulfill their duties, the president or vice president shall assume the duties of the treasurer until such time as the treasurer is able to resume their duties or another treasurer is selected in accordance with election procedures described in the FRCL Bylaws, Article IV, Section 7.

The Director-at-Large, Student Representative shall:

Serve as liaison between the Friends of Ridgefield Community Library and the local high school.

Secure volunteers for a variety of Friends events, as needed.

Suggest activities to be held at the school to ensure awareness of the Friends and their mission.

Perform specific duties to support the work of the Board.

Act with the same rights and responsibilities as officers and committee chairs, with the exception of regular reporting duties.

Attend FRCL board and general meetings.

Be assigned a mentor to help with liaison duties.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Director(s)-at-large shall:

Perform specific duties to support the work of the Board.

Act with the same rights and responsibilities as officers and committee chairs, with the exception of regular reporting duties.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
